The room is quiet and dark when I open my eyes. It was a damn dream. I look at the clock on the nightstand next to me, it’s 5:30 am. Shit.

The dream wasn’t all a fantasy though. Some of it happened last night. I just need to decipher what.

I know I drank too much. I was a goner by midnight. But what actually happened?

I roll over and close my eyes. After a couple of minutes, I accept the fact that I’m not going to fall back asleep.

I tiptoe from my bed to my set of drawers. I pull out a pair of yoga pants and a hoodie. I grab my writing bag and flip flops and leave the room.

Early risers get to do things like watch the sunrise.

And I can figure out what the fuck happened last night.

The ship looks deserted as I make my way to the pool deck. I suppose most people would choose sleep over sunrises and early morning yoga classes.

Even though the pool area is nice and quiet, I choose to explore the front of the ship instead. There is a nice, secluded spot that has a couple of lounge chairs and a small table.

I alternate between writing in my journal and watching the sun peek over the horizon.

My recollection of last night feels like its stuck in a heavy fog. I drank too much. Again.

I run my fingers through my hair and lean back in the chair.

Austin was sweet last night though. I liked that he walked me back to the room. And I really like that he bit my lip. I touch my lips with my fingers. I wanted more. I want more.

I sit up and tuck my notebook back into my bag. The sun is halfway up, casting a yellow and orange glow in the pale blue sky.

I let out a sated breath and my tummy growls. I guess I should go have some breakfast.
